Reaching Out, Reaching Forward in 2009

2008 was a historic year for the WOCN Society as we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of our annual conference, and reached new highs in conference attendance and membership. The Society also added exciting new membership benefits like the Image Library, new courses in The Global Learning Center, the Salary and Productivity Survey report (available in the Member Center), new documents in the WOCN Library and available thru the online store. 2009 will be year 3 of WOCN’s 3-Year Strategic Plan and there are more publications, benefits, and initiatives on the way to help us achieve our mission!

New in 2009:

  • Undertaking process of developing outcomes research validating role of WOC nurse
  • Educational Webcasts and teleconferences
  • New courses posted in The Global Learning Center including an interactive Fistula management course
  • Portable Instructional Education (PIE) for Home Health and Acute Care
  • 2nd Edition of the WOCN Educational Essentials CD
  • New publications on Pressure Ulcer Evaluation, Indwelling Catheters, Pediatric Ostomies, and more.
