The Brand New WOCN.ORG

The metamorphosis of the WOCN Web site (www.wocn.org)—one of the biggest benefit to WOCN Society members, community, government agencies, regulatory agencies, business, health care agencies and patients—is now complete. The WOCN Website Committee worked with our National Office staff and developed a site map for the WOCN Society site to allow a clean flow throughout the site. The home page has been developed to allow a pleasant professional feel. This will allow the navigator to visually recognize their desired path as effortlessly as possible.

The first thing you will notice when you visit the page is a “flash” presentation telling the story of who WOCN is and what we’re about. The categories include: Knowledge, Community, Advocacy and Membership. The rest of the home page is broken into the following sections:

  • Latest News: Will feature articles and information related to the field and the Society.
  • Annual Conference: Updates from upcoming and past WOCN Conferences.
  • Become a WOC Nurse: Information on the educational paths to becoming a WOC Nurse.
  • Advance your Practice: Learning resources for those providing WOC-related care, including: WOCN Library and Global Learning Center.
  • Patients: Care & Information: Section devoted to assisting WOC patients who visits our website. Includes nurse referral search, patient related web links and brochures.
  • Featured Product: Each month we will feature a new WOCN product to assist in helping members provide expert care which can be purchased through our online store.

Other pages accessible from the home page will be:

  • Member Center: The Member Center is the new “members’ only” section of the website. This is where you can renew your dues, update personal information, search the membership directory, as well as access your membership benefits: search online JWOCN articles, access membership forums, purchase products at a discount and download members’ only Library documents. Performing these functions online is very safe and secure.

This can be changed after logging in for the first time.

  • Who we Are: Contains information on membership, leadership, strategic plan updates, public policy updates and Regional/Affiliate section.
  • Research and Funding: This section is where you would find information on current grants made available by the Society for researching topics related to our field. You can also learn more about The WOCN Foundation and The Center for Clinical Investigation.
  • Find a Job, Post a Job: Search for potential employment through our job postings page which is updated weekly with new positions. Also, members have the ability to post a “position wanted” description which is viewed by hospitals, organizations, etc.
  • WOCN Library: Contains all publications related to the WOCN Society including the WOCNews, Best practice documents, White Papers, Fact sheets and information about the Journal of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing.
