Political and Legislative Reform
The WOCN Society works to move the profession forward on behalf of its members through its involvement on Capitol Hill.
The Society works diligently to shape legislation that protects and strengthens the profession and is committed to advancing legislative activity that promotes the benefits of WOC nurse involvement specific to:
- Pressure ulcers
- Leg ulcers
- Chronic wounds
- Ostomy and continence care
The WOCN Society supports increases in federal funding for education and clinical and research opportunities to advance the profession. Through legislative consultants, who maintain an office in Washington, the WOCN Society has brought the WOC agenda to the attention of Congress and works tirelessly to inform members of Congress about WOC issues.
