The Effort to Prevent Competitive Bidding
In 2016, the WOCN Society reported on the possibility of ostomy and urological supplies being included in Medicare’s competitive bidding program. Ostomy and urological supplies are not one-size-fits-all, and it is imperative that they do not become part of this program.
The Society has released a two-phase response plan for this issue. Phase I of the plan included the development of a document (below) outlining the implications of competitive bidding. We encourage you to read this document carefully and share it with legislators, patients, clinicians and advocates.

At this time, it remains unclear if ostomy and urological supplies will be introduced to the competitive bidding program. However, the Society is doing everything in its power to prevent this, and we need your help. Sign up to receive special alerts in regards to this issue, including ways in which you can get involved.
