To Our Professional Colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to join the Wound,
Ostomy and Continence Nurses (WOCN) Society at the 38th Annual Conference
in Minneapolis, Minn., June 24-28, 2006. This gathering is the largest
meeting of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing practitioners and
researchers in the world.
This year’s theme, “Learn. Teach.
Change.” is certainly appropriate. Throughout the conference
you will enhance your clinical knowledge and learn the latest advances
in wound, ostomy, and continence issues while networking with colleagues
and industry professionals. A new lasting-value feature this year
— audio and visual presentations — will be available
for review and purchase, allowing you to share concurrent sessions
with others when you return home.
We are receiving overwhelming interest in abstract
submissions this year from many excellent candidates. More than
50 speakers will address current issues facing the WOC nursing world
and these will be explored at this conference in the various general
sessions, concurrent sessions, workshops, and symposia. Continuing
education sessions will provide you with the opportunity to learn
from top clinical experts how to address health care problems relating
to all age groups. Topics will encompass presentations on care in
a variety of health care settings, including primary, acute, and
home care. For early arrivals, there is an exciting pre-conference
program, a half or full-day schedule on Saturday.
