What's Hot in Nashville?

Every year the WOCN® Society covers the latest trends and topics in wound, ostomy, continence and professional practice during the Annual Conference. Whether your main focus is your current specialty, or a specialty you are interested in for the future, the Society has you covered. Here are some of the hot sessions that we can't wait for you to attend in Nashville!


MASD vs. Pressure Ulcers: What is that Yellow Stuff?

This session will highlight the challenge in differentiating moisture associated skin damage and pressure ulcers. It will include both the most up to date evidence based recommendations for assessment and classification as well as discuss recommendations for future research.

 

Management of the Patient with a High Output Stoma

This session will review the management of a patient with a high output stoma (HOS). The information presented will build upon a previous conference presentation, and will cover the definition, differential diagnosis and assessment of the patient with HOS.

 

 

Y'all are Continence Nurses (Series)

The 4 sessions in this series will review catheter selection and insertion techniques, catheter management in Acute Care, catheter management in Long Term Care & Acute Care and building a containment program.

This session will provide the attendees with updated evidenced based CAUTI practices/protocols in acute care.
 

 

Miracle in Haiti; Lessons for the Global Health

This session will focus on wound care efforts in Haiti providing means for excellent wound care when situations presented are challenging for the patient and health care provider.
