During Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) Nurse Week, April 13-19, 2014, the WOCN® Society will recognize WOC nurses for the services they provide to millions of patients who suffer from non-healing wounds, ostomies, and urinary and fecal incontinence.
The Society believes that the right choice to care for patients with wound, ostomy and continence needs are nurses educated by WOCN Society-accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Education Programs (WOCNEPs) and/or nurses who are certified through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB®). WOC nurses are highly prepared expert clinicians who serve in a variety of roles to enhance and facilitate care for patients including educator, consultant, researcher and administrator.
The goal of 2014 WOC Nurse Week is to celebrate the work certified WOC nurses do for their patients, their workplaces and their communities every day. Only WOC nurses combine Compassionate Care & Results to make this difference.
Beginning April 13, spread the word and educate others by sharing your official WOC Nurse Week Materials.
WOC Nurse Week is supported by an educational grant from Smith & Nephew.
