This Year's Pre-Conference Offerings

(001) WOCN Certification Review Course
8 - 10:30 am, (001-A) Wound;

NEW this year, the Certification Review Course will be available by section. You will have the option to participate in the full day review or simply pay for and attend only the section(s) in which you are interested.


(002) Pain Management Pharmacology for Advanced Practice Nurses*

8 - 11 am
Maureen F. Cooney, DNP, FNP-BC

This pre-conference session will employ a case-based approach to the pharmacological management of patients with acute and chronic pain. Discussion will include pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of various agents, opioid conversions, use of long-acting and short-acting opioids, and co-analgesic agents for the management of painful conditions.

 

(003) Wound Treatment Associate: Train the Trainer

12 - 4 pm
This is a non-CE session and will not offer credit.

Back by popular demand, the WTA Train the Trainer workshop will offer you the opportunity to learn about the program and ask questions to people heavily involved with its creation and execution. The first two hours will be lecture style, while the last two will offer you the chance to review the hands-on skills that are a part of the program curriculum.

 

(004) Assessment and Management of Lower Extremity Neuropathy*
12 - 4 pm
Tara Beuscher, DNP, RN-BC, GCNS-BC, ANP-BC, CWOCN, CFCN

This session will offer guidance on the physical assessment for patients lower extremity neuropathy and suggestions for identifying common signs and symptoms of lower extremity wounds associated with diabetes, neuropathy, vascular insufficiency.

 

*These two sessions are planned back to back to allow for a full day of education for advanced practice nurses.
