Joyce M. Black, PhD, RN, CWCN, FAAN
Joyce is an associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She is best known in the WOC community through her work with the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP), especially in staging pressure injuries, deep tissue injury and the 2009 Guidelines. Dr. Black is certified in wound care and is a member of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) for her work in deep tissue injury.
Susan L. Salsbury, OTR/L, CDMS, CSPHP
Susan is a 1980 graduate of the Ohio State University with a bachelor of science in occupational therapy. She became a certified disability case management specialist in 2008. In 2016, she earned her certification as a safe patient handling professional. She has more than 35 years of experience in clinical and employer-based environments, and has developed and implemented occupational rehabilitation programs in both settings. She has presented programs locally, statewide and nationally on transitional work, ergonomics and safe patient handling to health professional groups. She is currently employed with OhioHealth in Columbus, OH.
