This manual was developed as a resource to clarify and explain the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) Policies and Procedures and to facilitate organizational activities in the WOCN Society.
The purpose of the manual is threefold: (1) policy statements that are proposed and endorsed by the Board of Directors are listed to indicate the historical development and information relevant to general operating procedures; (2) policies and procedures developed by WOCN committees are included to serve as reference tools; and (3) specific documents and guidelines developed by the WOCN Society are supplied to provide information about the association's activities and relationships with other organizations.
