The updated Guideline for Management of Wounds in Patients with Lower-Extremity Neuropathic Disease is now available in the WOCN Bookstore >>

Lower Extremity Neuropathic Disease is a multifaceted health condition that often results in lower extremity amputation, a somber and life altering outcome which is well demonstrated as being preventable. This guideline will promote evidence based assessment, prevention, and management strategies for neuropathic patients, including the millions of patients with diabetes and a myriad of other primary diagnoses. It will also provide a strong impetus for education, offer a framework for future research, and support evidence based clinical practice to improve quality of life for patients and cost effective outcomes for health systems.
