Tribute to Former WOCN Member

Therese (Terry) Haus, BS, RN, CETN, CWOCN, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Terry was an honorary Lifetime Member of the WOCN Society, a wonderful WOC/ET nurse, teacher, mentor and a great mother to four daughters.

Terry was a local, regional, national and international leader in WOC/ET nursing. She focused mainly on the ostomy population and helped international colleagues set up ostomy clinics, often by purchasing textbooks with her own resources. She was one of the original champions and advocates of patient-centered care. She worked as an ET nurse at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, retiring 14 years ago.
Terry will be remembered by her close colleagues in the Metro NY Affiliate and the Northeast Region for her wonderful expertise, generous heart, humor and love of the WOC/ET nursing specialty to help patients in need.

The Society offers its heartfelt condolences to Terry's family, friends and colleagues.
