Increase Patient Satisfaction and Positive Outcomes
The WOCN® Society developed the Ostomy Care Associate (OCA) Program in response to a need for ostomy care when a shortage of WOC nurses occurs. Under the guidance and direction of a WOC nurse, the OCA will help achieve goals of increasing patient satisfaction and positive outcomes.
The OCA Program is meant to position the WOC nurse as the authority, educator and expert of ostomy patient care. The WOC nurse will act as a "Course Coordinator" to share his or her clinical expertise with OCA Program participants. After successful completion of the program, the OCA will have the skills and confidence to act as a WOC nurse extender and help patients access ostomy care along the continuum to support a WOC nurse.

Bring the OCA Program to your health setting to demonstrate the value of the WOC nurse as the driving force to delivering expert ostomy care!

Development of the OCA Program was funded in part by an unrestricted educational grant from Hollister, Inc.
