Extend Your WOC Nursing Staff

Attend the conference session Partnering for the Future – Increasing Access to Care (OCA and WTA Integration) on Tuesday, June 5, from 3:10-4:10 pm, to learn how to extend your WOC nursing staff with the Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) Program and the Ostomy Care Associate (OCA) Program .

UOAA Patient Bill of Rights
The United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA) developed the Ostomy and Continent Diversion Patient Bill of Right (PBOR) as a tool for patients to advocate for their own care. Although UOAA’s PBOR is not mandated by law, that does not make it less important; it just offers no legal recourse. It should be used as a guide for patients and families to know what is reasonable to ask for and what should be asked for to facilitate the best outcome for the patient.

In an effort to address concerns and encourage utilization of the Bill of Rights with nursing professionals, the UOAA created two new documents with specific nursing practices as they relate to the Bill of Rights:
