Guideline for Management of Wounds in Patients with Lower-Extremity Arterial Disease

Member Price: $40.00
Non-Member Price: $50.00
Publication Date: 2014

Description: This Guideline for Management of Wounds in Patients with Lower-Extremity Arterial Disease is the result of a comprehensive literature search to identify research studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses published in English from January 2008 through June 2013. A panel of nurses from the WOCN membership, representing a wide range of experience and clinical practice backgrounds, convened to plan and develop the guideline. A topical outline was designed and specific questions about LEAD were proposed to guide the search of the literature for evidence; and studies reporting primary data relevant to LEAD and specific therapies or diagnostic modalities were included in the review. This clinical practice guideline is intended for use by physicians, nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals working with adults who have (or are at risk) for wounds due to lower-extremity arterial disease (LEAD). The guideline is meant to support clinical practice. The overall goal is to provide research-based information that will improve cost-effective patient outcomes and stimulate increased wound research. It was based on the best available evidence at the time it was written. 188-page booklet.
