High-output ileostomy care can be a challenge, regardless of the care setting. Involving the individual, the individual’s significant other(s) as well as an interdisciplinary health care team is imperative for appropriate care management. 
This webinar seeks to provide a richer knowledge of the pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal system, specific signs and symptoms to help identify when acute medical care is needed, and some preventative and management strategies. Pharmacological care will be included.

  1. Identify complications associated with high output ileostomies.
  2. Explain complication management strategies, including pharmacology.
