The WOCN® Society leadership is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, while following updates and guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC). The health, safety and well-being of the WOC community is our highest priority.
At this time,
WOCNext 2020 will proceed as planned, June 7-10, 2020 in Cleveland, OH. We want to assure colleagues planning to attend WOCNext 2020 that health, safety and security are our top priorities. We are working with the Huntington Convention Center, Destination Cleveland and the Cleveland hotel community to implement every precaution necessary to provide an exceptional event.
We have developed a dedicated page on the WOCNext website detailing our pre and onsite preparedness plans. You can visit our
COVID-19 Resource Page for more information and ongoing updates.
WOCN will provide further updates as events warrant via email and posting on the WOCNext website. For further inquiries, you may contact
We look forward to welcoming you to Cleveland!
Stephanie Yates, MSN, RN, ANP-BC, CWOCN, President of the WOCN Society
Hello Katherine, Thank you for reaching out. We understand your concern. The WOCN Society Board of Directors is currently reviewing all of the information available to us about the outbreak in the country, and will be discussing all of our options around the future of the WOCNext 2020 event. We ask for your patience as we hope to have a definitive answer in the next week or so.
Given the numbers of restrictions on travel, the crisis in many/most of our institutions etc, I am wondering as to your timeline for decions on canceling the conference. At one point, June seemed safe but...Even the olympics have been postponed!
