Health Care Settings for the WTA Program

The WTA Program was designed for all health care settings, including:

  1. Home Health
  2. Hospitals and Health Care Systems
  3. Military
  4. Individual

Home Health
, Hospitals and Health Care Systems

The WOC nurse in home health, hospitals and health care systems may gather participants at his/her facility for the online program. Individuals completing the WTA Program will function under the direction of the supervising APRN, WOC specialty nurse or physician.

The WOCN Society is partnering with the Armed Forces to offer the Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) Program to military nurses, medics/corpsmen, and civilian nurses working in military facilities. The goal is to make the program available to eligible personnel worldwide; the first course will be offered at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD.

The program has been funded through a wound care education grant from the Henry Jackson Foundation and is available for those who meet eligibility requirements.

If you are a military member or currently work as a civilian at a military treatment facility, contact CDR Tracey Giles and/or (Ret) CDR David Crumbley for details:

Potential participants include nurses who are interested in advancing their wound care knowledge but who do not have a WOC nurse in their setting. Become a WTA Course Coordinator.
