In this episode of WOCTalk, we sit down with Sandra Engberg, PhD, RN, CRNP, FAAN, Co-Chair of the iPCaRe Task Force and Mikel Gray, PhD, FNP, PNP, CUNP, CCCN, FAANP, FAAN to discuss a recently released WOCN algorithm titled Interventions Post Catheter Removal (iPCaRe) Decision Support Tool.

The Interventions Post Catheter Removal (iPCaRe) Decision Support Tool is a consensus-based algorithm for acute care settings focusing on patient assessment and the selection and use of bladder management strategies after indwelling urinary catheter removal. This algorithm fills the gap in the evidence available for first-line and WOC specialty practice nurses and guide optimal bladder management following the removal of an indwelling urinary catheter.
