ANNUAL NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!

We invite WOCN members to discover the opportunity to empower change and take the lead in shaping the future of the WOCN Society by nominating a qualifying individual(s), or yourself, for open positions on WOCN Board of Directors and Leadership Development Committee.

The following positions are open for nominations in the WOCN Society 2027 Election:

President-Elect

Director (2 positions available)

Leadership Development Committee Members (2 positions available; Areas 1* and 3**)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Please read the descriptions of each position before submitting a nomination.
• We strongly encourage all aspiring candidates to connect with the current members of the WOCN Board of Directors and/or Leadership Committee chair through the WOCN Connected Communities to learn more about these positions.
• NEW: All aspiring candidates are required to complete the online readiness self-assessment tool. Information provided in this tool will be maintained by the National Office staff.

*Area 1: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, North America (excluding the United States), and South America.

**Area 3: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Asia, and Oceania.

CAMPAIGNING GUIDELINES:

• Individuals aspiring to run for an open position(s) during annual elections can campaign. It’s important to understand that a nomination for an open position does not guarantee placement on the annual election ballot. The annual election ballot is subject to approval by the WOCN Board of Directors.
• Members of the WOCN Society can campaign on behalf of nominees. Members of the Board of Directors and the Leadership Development Committee cannot campaign on behalf of any candidate.
• Candidates can campaign using their personal communication platforms, including but not limited to personal social media, email distribution lists, etc. No campaigning is allowed on any of the WOCN Society (national or chapter) communication platforms, including but not limited to eblasts, online member communities, social media, etc.
• Membership lists (national or chapter) will not be provided to candidates.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR ASPIRING CANDIDATES:

• Complete nominations are due by 5 PM Eastern Time on Monday, October 26, 2026. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
• Virtual interviews with all candidates will be conducted by the Leadership Development Committee in November 2026. These interviews will be held via Zoom. Candidate attendance is mandatory.
• The proposed annual election ballot will be subject to approval by the WOCN Board of Directors in mid-December 2026.
• In late December 2026, WOCN staff will contact all the approved candidates with requests for additional required information, including the candidate profile form, headshot, acceptance form, and a short introductory video. This information is mandatory and will be used as part of the annual election ballot.
• Annual elections will open on Monday, January 11, 2027, and close at midnight Eastern Time on Thursday, February 11, 2027. Election results will be announced by mid-March 2027.
