WOCN DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses with a Bright Future
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS OPEN THROUGH JANUARY 9, 2026!
The WOCN DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses with a Bright Future is provided by the WOCN Society, a supportive association of the DAISY Foundation, to recognize a new tri-specialty wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) certified nurse within the first five (5) years of WOC practice who is destined to make a significant contribution to WOC nursing as a compassionate clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, administrator, and professional leader.
Eligibility Criteria for the NomiNATOR:
- The individual must be nominated by a current member of the WOCN Society in good standing.
- Current WOCN Society Board members and past presidents currently serving on the WOCN Society Board or WOCN DAISY Award Review Panel are not eligible to nominate an individual.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE NOMINEE:

- The nominee must be a current member of the WOCN Society in good standing.
- The nominee must be within the first five (5) years of entry into WOC nursing practice, post tri-specialty WOC certification by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
- The nominee must be currently tri-specialty WOC certified by the WOCNCB.
- The nominee’s practice includes each of the tri-specialty areas of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing.
- The nominee can work within any practice setting.
Previous winners of the WOCN DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses with a Bright Future, Future is Bright Award, or Barbara Braden Future is Bright Award are not eligible for this award.

IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES
- Nominations are due by Friday, January 9, 2026. Nominations received after the deadline for submission will be disqualified from consideration.
- Nominators and the award recipient will be notified of final decision by Friday, April 3, 2026.
- Award winner will be announced during WOC Nurse Week (April 12-18, 2026).
- Award winner will be recognized during WOCNext 2026 (May 31-June 2, 2026).
