In response to member requests, WOCN has engaged with stakeholders in multiple states to increase the maximum allowable for ostomy supplies in their Medicaid program. Recently the WOCN and UOAA sent a joint letter to the New York Medicaid Administrator expressing concerns about how recent changes in how the state is administering ostomy supplies to beneficiaries is impacting patient access to those supplies. New York responded to our request and has agreed to work with us to ensure beneficiary access to supplies. The state has also agreed to revisit their reimbursement and quantities limits for ostomy supplies and the Society will be sending them our recommendations. The response letter from NY can found here.
